How do I paraphrase text online?
Paste the passage into the box above and press Paraphrase. The tool reworks vocabulary and sentence structure while keeping the claim intact, and returns a result in a few seconds.
Is the AI paraphraser free?
Yes. You get 5 free runs every rolling 24 hours with no account and no signup. There is no separate paid tier on this tool.
Is my text uploaded anywhere permanent?
It is sent to our AI server to be reworded and returned to you; it is not used to train models. Treat anything you paste the way you would treat any text sent over a network.
Does paraphrasing text avoid plagiarism?
No. Rewording someone else's idea does not make it yours. If a passage came from a source, a paraphrase of it still needs a citation, exactly as a direct quote would.
Will this make my text pass a plagiarism or AI detector?
That is not a claim we make. We do not test against detectors or tune the tool to beat one, so we have no basis to promise a result on a system we do not control.
Does paraphrasing change my meaning?
It should not. The tool reworks wording and structure, not the underlying claim. Always check numbers, dates and qualifiers against the source, since those are the details most likely to drift unnoticed.
What is the difference between the paraphraser and the sentence rewriter?
The sentence rewriter improves one of your own sentences: clause order, length, emphasis. The paraphraser restates a passage, often someone else's, in different words while holding the claim fixed and preserving the need for a citation.
What is the difference between the paraphraser and the essay rewriter?
The essay rewriter restructures your own document's argument and paragraph order. The paraphraser reworks the wording of a specific passage, which is often a quoted or cited source rather than your own original writing.
Can I use this for academic work?
That depends entirely on your school or program's policy on AI-assisted paraphrasing, which we do not set and cannot speak for. Check with your institution before you submit anything, and keep the citation regardless of what the policy says.
Do I still need to cite a source after paraphrasing it?
Yes, always. Paraphrasing changes the wording, not the origin of the idea. Attribution follows the idea, not the exact sentence.
Does it work on long passages?
Yes, within reason. Longer passages take a little longer to return, and checking the result against the source is easier when you work in smaller chunks.
Why does my paraphrase read a bit stiff?
The tool prioritises keeping the claim exact over sounding effortless. Read the result and adjust the phrasing in your own voice; the accuracy check matters more than a perfect first pass.
Does it work on quotes I want to paraphrase into a report?
Yes. That is one of the most common uses: reword a source quote into your own sentence structure, keep the citation, and move on.
Can I paraphrase my own earlier writing?
Yes, and no citation issue applies there since the idea is already yours. It is still worth checking that the reworded version says exactly what you meant.
Is there a batch mode or an API?
Not currently. Each passage runs through individually, within your daily allowance.
What happens when I run out of free runs?
You will see a message telling you when your next run is available. It resets automatically 24 hours after the run that used up the allowance.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. The page works in any modern mobile browser.
Will running it twice reword the passage further?
It can, but a second pass over an already-paraphrased passage increases the chance the claim drifts from the source. Check the result carefully if you run it more than once.
Does it work on languages other than English?
It is built and tested primarily for English text. Other languages may work but quality is not guaranteed to the same degree.
Why did a number or date change slightly?
It should not, and that is a rewording error rather than an intended change. Report anything like that and correct it against the source before you use the result.
