The tool
What the AI space remover does
This tool takes every whitespace character out of text copied from an AI chat assistant and gives you back one unbroken string. Ordinary spaces, tabs, line breaks and the Unicode spaces that look identical to a normal one all go. Paste the reply, press the button, copy the result.
It runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, there is no run limit and no length cap, because no server is involved in the work at any point.
How it works
How to remove spaces from AI text in three steps
Nothing to install, no settings to configure, no account.
- Step 1
- Paste the AI reply. Copy it straight from the chat window rather than retyping it, or the odd spaces will already be gone.
- Step 2
- Press the button. The removal happens instantly, on your own machine.
- Step 3
- Copy the result. Every letter, digit and punctuation mark is exactly as it was, with the gaps closed up.
The actual list
Which space characters get removed
A dedicated space remover beats a find-and-replace on the space bar, because the space bar makes one character, U+0020, and several others draw a gap that looks the same. These are the ones this tool takes out.
- U+0020 and the tab
- The ordinary space and the horizontal tab, the two everyone expects.
- Line breaks
- Line feed, carriage return, vertical tab and form feed, plus the line and paragraph separators U+2028 and U+2029.
- U+00A0 no-break space
- Identical on screen to a normal space. The most common reason a search for a space finds nothing.
- U+2000 to U+200A
- The typographic spaces: en quad, em quad, en space, em space, three-per-em, four-per-em, six-per-em, figure space, punctuation space, thin space and hair space.
- U+202F and U+205F
- Narrow no-break space and medium mathematical space. Both turn up around numbers and units.
- U+1680 and U+3000
- Ogham space mark and the ideographic space used in Chinese, Japanese and Korean text, which is as wide as a full character.
- U+FEFF byte-order mark
- Belongs at the start of a file to declare encoding. Stranded mid-text it counts as whitespace here and is removed with the rest.
Scope, stated honestly
What this tool does not remove
Zero-width characters are not whitespace, so they are not touched here. That means U+200B the zero-width space, U+200C and U+200D the joiners, U+2060 the word joiner and U+00AD the soft hyphen all survive a run. They leave no visible gap, so nothing looks wrong, and that is exactly why people assume the tool failed.
If your problem is invisible rather than visible, use the AI watermark remover instead. It handles that class of character specifically. This tool also does not straighten quotes, convert dashes, strip markdown or count anything for you. It closes gaps, and that is all it claims.
The cause
Why AI chat replies carry more than one kind of space
An AI reply reaches your clipboard as rendered rich text, not as the plain characters on screen. HTML collapses a run of plain spaces down to one, so an interface that needs to show a visible gap has to use a character the browser will not collapse, and a no-break space is the usual choice. Code blocks, tables and lists all push extra whitespace in for layout.
Copy that render and you get the layout characters with it. The words are fine. The gaps between them are a mix of at least two kinds of character that look like one.
Why it matters
What stray spaces in AI text actually break
The failures are hard to diagnose because the text looks correct. A URL slug built from an AI-written heading resolves to a different address than you meant, because a no-break space sits where you thought a normal one was. A spreadsheet lookup misses on a value that reads identically to its match.
In code it is worse. A no-break space inside an identifier or a string literal produces a syntax error that most editors give no visible sign of, so you stare at a line that looks perfect. Removing every space before pasting a generated value into a config file takes the whole class of problem away.
Who it's for
Who uses the AI space remover, and when
Developers use it on values an assistant generated, an identifier, a config key, a sample token, before those values reach a file that will be parsed. Data people use it on a column of keys or codes that has to match exactly.
Anyone building a slug, a hashtag, a filename or a form field with a no-whitespace rule uses it the same way: paste, run, copy, and the value is now one string with nothing hiding between the characters.
