The tool
What the ChatGPT humanizer does
Paste ChatGPT output and the humanizer rewrites it: sentence lengths stop matching, the hedges thin out, the formal connectors at the head of every paragraph go, and the summary paragraph tacked onto the end usually disappears. The server instruction it runs under is to preserve your original meaning and factual claims while doing that.
It is a rewriter, so it returns rewritten text rather than a report. If what you want is to see which patterns are there before changing anything, the checker on this site does that and leaves your text alone.
How it works
How to humanize ChatGPT text in three steps
Step two is the one that separates a generic rewrite from a useful one.
- Step 1
- Paste the text, between 1 and 12,000 characters. That is roughly 1,800 to 2,000 words in one run.
- Step 2
- Name what you want gone in the instruction field, up to 300 characters. Specific words work better than "make it sound human".
- Step 3
- Read the result against your original before you use it. Check the numbers and names survived, because a rewrite can move a qualifier.
The instruction box
Name the ChatGPT words you want removed
Competing humanizer pages publish lists of the words detectors notice: multifaceted, leverage, paramount, ensure, facilitate, navigate, and the connector run of while, however and moreover. A list is only useful if you can act on it, and the 300-character instruction field is where you do that.
- Ban specific words
- "Remove every use of delve, leverage, paramount and multifaceted." A named word is a far more reliable instruction than a mood.
- Kill the connectors
- "Do not start any sentence with Moreover, Furthermore or Additionally." This is the habit readers notice first.
- Drop the recap
- "Delete any closing paragraph that summarises what was already said." Models add one even to short pieces.
- Break the rhythm
- "Vary sentence length. Include at least three sentences under eight words." Uniform length is the flattest part of model prose.
- Protect the facts
- "Do not change any number, date, name or quotation." Worth typing every time, on anything that will be read carefully.
Direct answer
Does this make ChatGPT text undetectable?
No. We do not test against Turnitin, GPTZero, Copyleaks or Originality.ai, we do not tune output to move any detector's score, and we make no claim about what one will report. We have no affiliation with any of them.
This is not a fringe position in the category. Grammarly, running the best known humanizer on this search, states in its own FAQ that its tool is not intended to bypass AI detectors and encourages acknowledging AI assistance. Elsewhere on the same results page you will find domains promising 100 per cent human text. One of those two positions is checkable. The honest claim here is that the rewrite reads less uniformly and keeps your meaning, and you can verify both by reading the output.
The awkward question
Is using a ChatGPT humanizer cheating?
It depends entirely on the rule you are under, and the rule is the thing to read rather than any tool page's opinion. Most institutions and many employers now publish a written policy on AI assistance, and those policies overwhelmingly turn on disclosure rather than on which software touched the draft.
In practice there are two very different uses sharing one button. Rewriting your own argument so it stops sounding like a chat reply is editing, and nobody has ever needed permission to edit their own prose. Passing off generated work as unaided under a rule that forbids it is a problem, and running it through a rewriter first does not change what the rule says. The tool cannot tell which one you are doing, so the judgement stays yours.
Scope
What the humanizer changes and what it keeps
Changed: sentence structure, rhythm, hedging, connectors, the closing recap, and the vocabulary you name in the instruction. Kept, by instruction: your meaning, your factual claims, the order of your argument.
Not touched at all, because the tool has no way to do it: a fact you got wrong stays wrong, a citation you are missing stays missing, and an argument that does not work is rewritten into a better-sounding version of an argument that does not work. A humanizer is a surface tool. It cannot improve the thinking underneath, and a page that implies otherwise is overselling.
Limits
How much you can humanize at once
Between 1 and 12,000 characters per run, which is about 1,800 to 2,000 words, with 5 free runs per rolling 24 hours counted from your first use. Some competing tools advertise larger capacity, around 5,000 words per call, and unlimited free use. Ours is smaller and stated rather than discovered.
For a longer piece, split at section breaks and run the parts separately, budgeting against the 5-run allowance. Do not split mid-paragraph: the rewrite judges rhythm across sentences, so a fragment starting halfway through an argument gets a worse result than the text deserves.
Who it's for
Who uses the ChatGPT humanizer, and when
Writers who drafted with ChatGPT, own the argument, and do not want the prose announcing where it came from. Marketers and freelancers working under a client AI policy who need the copy to read like the rest of the site.
People writing at volume, where model output starts to sound identical across ten pieces and readers notice before any software does. And anyone who has read their own draft back and recognised the rhythm, which is usually the moment people arrive here.
