ChatGPT line break remover
What the ChatGPT line break remover does
This tool takes a ChatGPT reply that pastes with a hard line break after nearly every sentence, or after every visually wrapped line, and joins it back into a single flowing block of text. Every line break is replaced with a plain space, any resulting run of spaces is collapsed to one, and the result is one continuous paragraph.
It runs in your browser. Paste, press the button, copy the result: nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and there is no cap on how much text you clean or how often you come back.
Why it happens
Why ChatGPT text pastes with a break after almost every line
ChatGPT's rendering formats a numbered or bulleted list as a genuine list structure, one item per line, and a copy of that structure carries a hard line break at the end of each item rather than letting the text flow and wrap naturally. A reply built mostly of short list items or a step-by-step explanation can therefore paste as a long column of one-line fragments instead of readable paragraphs.
A fenced code block copied inline with surrounding prose contributes its own hard breaks too, since each line of code is a real line, not a wrapped one, and it carries that structure into whatever follows it in the same paste.
How it works
How to remove line breaks from ChatGPT text in three steps
Nothing to configure, nothing to install.
- Step 1
- Copy the reply from ChatGPT and paste it into the box.
- Step 2
- Press Remove line breaks. It runs instantly, on your own device.
- Step 3
- Copy the joined text from the output box.
Straight answer
Does it remove every line break or just the extra ones?
Every one. Every line break in the pasted text, including a deliberate paragraph break you wanted to keep, is replaced with a single space, and the result is one unbroken paragraph. That is the correct behaviour for text that should never have had breaks in the first place, a copied list, a step-by-step reply, a caption.
If the ChatGPT reply has real paragraphs you want to preserve, run this and then reinsert a blank line wherever a new paragraph should start, since there is currently no mode here that tells a deliberate paragraph break apart from an unwanted one.
Why it matters
What line-broken ChatGPT text actually breaks
Pasted into an email or a CMS field, one-sentence-per-line text reads like a list nobody meant to write, and most rich-text editors reflow it strangely on top of that, adding visible gaps where the hard breaks used to be invisible line wraps. A caption or a meta description built from line-broken text can end up truncated at the first break instead of the actual sentence limit.
In code and data, a stray hard break inside what should have been one field, one CSV cell, one JSON string value, breaks the format outright rather than just looking wrong.
The underlying cause
Why list-heavy ChatGPT answers are the worst offenders
ChatGPT defaults to numbered and bulleted lists for anything resembling a sequence, a set of options, or a comparison, because that format reads well inside the chat window itself. Each item in that list is a genuine line, not a sentence that happens to wrap, and copying the reply preserves that line-by-line structure exactly.
The result is that the more structured and skimmable a ChatGPT answer looked on screen, the more fragmented it tends to paste as plain text, since the visual tidiness came from real line breaks doing real work.
Who uses it
Who uses the ChatGPT line break remover, and when
Anyone turning a ChatGPT list into a normal paragraph for an email, a product description or a caption uses this to undo the one-line-per-item structure before it goes anywhere. Writers building a single flowing sentence or two out of a longer ChatGPT answer use it so the copy reads as prose rather than a fragmented list.
Developers pulling ChatGPT text into a single CSV cell or a JSON string value use it to guarantee there is no stray hard break sitting inside a field that expects one continuous value.
