Gemini space remover

What the Gemini space remover does

This tool strips every space character out of text copied from Gemini, whether from the chat window or after an Export to Docs, and returns one unbroken string. Paste the text in, press the button, copy the result. Ordinary spaces, tabs, line breaks and the invisible Unicode spaces that ordinary find-and-replace misses all come out in the same pass.

It runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and there is no cap on how much text you clean or how often you come back.

Why it happens

Why Gemini's nested lists leave behind non-breaking spaces

Gemini often answers with bolded lead-ins and nested sub-points, a structure that needs a non-breaking space to hold visible indentation, since plain HTML collapses ordinary spaces down to one. Export to Docs adds a second rendering pass on top of that, with its own spacing conventions, so a value exported to a Doc and then copied again is not guaranteed to carry the same spaces as a copy straight from the chat window.

Either path can leave a non-breaking space sitting exactly where you expect an ordinary one, invisible on screen and different in the bytes underneath.

How it works

How to remove spaces from Gemini text in three steps

There is nothing to install and no settings to configure. The whole thing takes a few seconds.

Step 1
Copy the text from Gemini's chat window or from an exported Doc, and paste it into the box.
Step 2
Press Remove spaces. The tool runs instantly, on your own machine.
Step 3
Copy the result from the output box on the right.

What comes out

Which space characters get removed

A dedicated space remover beats find-and-replace because the space bar produces one character, U+0020, but a dozen others render as a gap on screen and survive a search for a normal space.

Text that has passed through nested-list rendering or a Docs export usually carries a mixture.

Regular spaces
The standard space bar character, U+0020.
Non-breaking spaces
U+00A0, common around Gemini's list indentation and in Docs-exported content.
Tabs and line breaks
Tab characters, carriage returns and newlines.
Unicode spaces
Thin space, hair space and the rest of U+2000-U+200A.
Ideographic space
U+3000, the full-width space used in Chinese, Japanese and Korean text.

Why it matters

What stray spaces in Gemini text actually break

The failures are hard to diagnose because the text looks right. A value pasted from Gemini into a Sheets formula fails to match an identical-looking cell, because a non-breaking space sits where the formula expects an ordinary one. A slug built from a Gemini-written heading resolves to a different address than the one you meant.

A byte-order mark or non-breaking space carried through a Docs export can also invalidate a CSV import or a database key that otherwise looks correct on screen.

Straight answer

Does it remove all spaces or just the extra ones?

All of them. This tool is for turning Gemini's text into one continuous string with no gaps at all, which is what you want for a slug, a key, a filename or a field that rejects whitespace.

If you want to keep single spaces between words and only collapse runs of two or more, use the whitespace minifier instead. If you only want to join broken lines back into a paragraph, use the Gemini line break remover.

Choosing the wrong one is the usual mistake. Removing every space from a paragraph of Gemini's prose leaves an unreadable block, which is correct behaviour and rarely what someone editing a reply actually wants.

In practice

Who uses the Gemini space remover, and when

People building a Sheets formula or a lookup out of values pasted from Gemini or a Docs export use it to catch a non-breaking space before it silently breaks a match.

Developers pulling an identifier or a config value out of Gemini's output use it before pasting into code, and anyone building URL slugs, filenames or database keys from Gemini-drafted headings uses it because those fields reject spaces outright.

FAQ

Gemini space remover FAQ

Everything below is answered in full, nothing to click open.

How do I remove all spaces from Gemini's text?

Paste the text into the box above and press Remove spaces. Every space, tab and line break is stripped and the result appears on the right, ready to copy.

Is the Gemini space remover free?

Yes, entirely free. There is no signup, no trial and no usage limit, because the tool runs in your browser.

Is my Gemini text uploaded anywhere?

No. The processing happens on your own machine in JavaScript. Nothing is sent over the network.

Does it work on text exported to Docs as well as the chat window?

Yes. It targets the space characters, not which rendering pass produced them, so either source is covered.

How do I remove extra spaces but keep single spaces?

Use the whitespace minifier instead. It collapses runs of two or more spaces down to one and leaves normal word spacing intact.

Why does find-and-replace leave spaces behind in Gemini's text?

Because it searches for one specific character, usually U+0020. Non-breaking and Unicode spaces look identical but are different codepoints.

Does it remove line breaks too?

Yes. Tabs, carriage returns and newlines are all whitespace, so they come out along with the spaces.

Why does my Sheets formula fail on a value pasted from Gemini?

A non-breaking space from Gemini's nested-list rendering or a Docs export can sit where the formula expects an ordinary space, and the two look identical but don't match.

Can I use it on a long Gemini reply?

Yes. There is no length cap and no run limit.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. It works in any modern mobile browser with no app to install.

Does removing spaces change Gemini's wording?

No. Only whitespace characters are removed. Every letter, digit and punctuation mark comes back exactly as it went in.

Can I remove spaces from code Gemini wrote?

You can, but be careful. Whitespace is significant in Python, YAML and Markdown.

What is the difference between this and the whitespace minifier?

This removes every space. The minifier collapses multiple spaces into one.

Why does my text look like one long word afterwards?

That is the tool working correctly: removing every space joins the words together.

Does it handle Chinese, Japanese and Korean text from Gemini?

Yes. The ideographic space used in CJK typesetting is recognised as whitespace and removed along with the rest.

Can it remove spaces from the ends of lines only?

Not on its own. Use the text splitter, which trims each line.

Is there an API or a batch mode?

No. This is a single browser tool with no account and no API.

Do I need an extension or an install?

No. It is a web page.

Is it safe for confidential or client text?

Yes. Nothing leaves your browser and nothing is stored.

Remove every space from Gemini's text, free.

No signup, no upload, no limit on how much text you clean.
